Around the Lamazière-Basse ponds

Park in the small car park on the edge of the Viers pond.

(S/E) Continue along the small road on the dyke, after which you will reach a crossroads.

(1) Take the path on the right along the Viers Pond, continue between fields and woods, and reach the Montsour Pond dyke.

(2) Carefully take the Montsour Pond dyke (D100) on the left, follow it to the left, pass the stadium and the houses of Les Plaines Nord, and arrive at a crossroads.

(3) Leave the road and take the track through the woods on the left. At the four-way junction, turn right onto a new road.

(4) Take the hairpin bend to the left and, a few steps further on, turn right onto a path. Shortly afterwards, you will reach the^third pond, Les Ganes.

(5) Walk along the bank, going around it on the right. Continue along a tarmac path to a place called Peyre Fade Sud.

(6) Take the road on the left, then at the last house, continue to the right. Join a new road and take it to the right. Follow it to the D991 road.

(7) Turn left onto the D991 road until the next fork with a path.

(8) Turn left onto this path and continue along the Étang du Grenouiller lake, then the Étang de la Trompette lake. Continue on to the Étang du Viers lake, which you passed on the way there.

(1) Turn right onto the path you took on the way there and follow it in the opposite direction to reach the Viers car park (S/E).

Dogs allowed.

(2) Étang de Montsour: you can make a return trip to the hut by the lake to get a better view.
