Start from the village of Marché, near the École Saint-Roch in Theux. Parking available here.
(S/E) Head towards the school entrance. On the left, by the school entrance, two paths lead up into the woods. Take the one on the right, which runs alongside the school. Follow this narrow path as it climbs for 600 m.
(1) You will reach a wider path. Turn sharply left and continue uphill. Keep going straight on until you reach Franchimont Castle. Continue across the car park and take the road leading out of the car park, which is divided in two by a hedge, until you reach the junction with the main road, Rue du Pré l’Évêque.
(2) Follow this road for 50 m to the right and turn left onto Chemin des Roches. After 50 m, the path turns 90° to the left before climbing. After 300 m, you’ll reach the pass and the junction. Continue straight on to head back down to Theux.
(3) You’ll reach the first houses by the railway line and turn right onto Rue Chavieumont. After 200 m, cross the main road without using the level crossing to reach Rue Marie-Louise. Continue straight ahead. You’ll pass asecond level crossing.
(4) 100 m further on, turn right onto the small Ruelle Terre aux Navettes, which becomes a footpath following the stream. Follow this path as it climbs through the meadows until it joins the main road.
(5) Take the road immediately to the left of the Thier du Gibet.
In this housing estate, you can climb to the top of the hill to reach the Croix du Thier du Gibet. If you choose this option, return along the original path to continue the walk.
Follow this road, which turns into a path. Follow this path for 1 km until you reach the junction. Turn right and then straight right onto Chemin Al Goffe, which climbs up to the village of Oneux. Continue to the church.
(6) Turn left onto Chemin du Kenoy. At the junction, turn left onto Chemin des Trixhes d’Oneux. Be careful not to walk past the cemetery. Continue for 800 m along this path until you reach the three-way junction.
(7) Turn left to head back down the valley. At the first junction, carry straight on and you will reach the first houses in Juslenville.
(8) At the junction, continue downhill to the main road, Rue Charles Rittweger, and the local school. Turn right for 40 m, then left onto Rue des Écoles. Take the first left.
(9) Cross the railway line and then the river. Continue straight on for 100 m. Turn left onto Rue Al Pièriere. Continue along this street until you reach the riverbank. Follow the river for 1 km. You will arrive at Quai des Saules and then Place du Vinave.
(10) Keep to your right and, at the roundabout, turn right. After 100 m, enter the park on your left and walk through it towards the church. You will arrive at Rue de la Chaussée. Turn left, then left again at the junction. You will arrive at Place du Perron. Walk round the Town Hall and turn immediately right onto Rue Hocheporte for 50 m.
(11) Take the small cul-de-sac on the left to reach Rue de la Hoegne. Turn right and continue straight on until you reach a bridge.
(12) Cross the bridge to the left. Just before the railway line, turn right onto the path which runs first alongside a converted old factory, then alongside the river. After 300 m, go through the tunnel under the railway line and continue along the path to reach the village of Marché (S/E).
