Park near the Étang des Goffes.
(S/E) From the pond, take Rue des Clusères and walk alongside the football pitch.
(1) Turn left onto Rue de Masbourg, then after about 80 metres, turn right onto Chemin d’Inzès Fochales. Keep left at the three-way junction; on your right, you may spot some does or stags from the Inzès Fochales deer farm.
(2) Turn right onto the farm’s private track, then leave it at the bend to follow the path that continues straight ahead and leads further on to a tarmac road (Biermonfoy).
(3) Turn sharply left, reach the top of the hill and turn right to enter the Forrières woods. Pass through the game gate.
(4) At the hamlet of Aux Cresses, turn left. Continue downhill to your right, following the Famenne trail marked in yellow.
(5) Turn left and leave the trail. Join the Nauchène walkway, marked with a Red Rectangle. Continue straight down to reach the RN849
(6) Cross the RN849 with care. Cross the railway tracks, then turn left to continue along the path running parallel to them.
(7) When you reach a river (La Masblette), you have no choice but to climb the embankment and walk alongside the tracks for a few metres to get to the other side of the river. On the tarmac road, turn left to cross the railway tracks and continue towards Masbourg.
(8) At the bend, by the mobile phone mast, take the path on the right into the woods. Ignore a path on the left, then keep left at the next junction.
(9) At the hamlet of Melaimont, take the path on the left which goes uphill, then keep to the right about a hundred metres further on.
(10) Continue straight on along this path to the top, where you’ll join a tarmac road at the hamlet of l’Étoile.
(11) Ignore the path furthest to the right (south) and take the one that branches off slightly to the right of the road a few metres further on. After the chalet in the woods on the right, go down the stony path on the left. Once you reach the village of Mormont, continue downhill, passing the chapel on your left.
(12) Just after the chapel, take a small path leading down to the right. At the bottom of this path, cross the river via the two small bridges. You are now in the grounds of the Fourneau Saint-Michel. Head straight on along the path that climbs between two rows of trees. There is an admission charge to visit the grounds, but by staying on the marked route, you’ll be using a local footpath that is open to everyone free of charge.
(13) Turn left onto the bridge, then take the first path on the right to join the RN849.
(14) Cross the RN849 with care and enter the woods. Head for the crossroads at the hamlet of Sur la Vau.
(15) Continue straight on for about 2.5 km, heading north-north-east. You’ll reach the crossroads at the hamlet of La Flamande.
(16) Turn left to head back up towards the village of Nassogne and join the RN889.
(17) Carry on to the left, enter Nassogne and, at the top, turn left towards the Étang des Goffes (S/E).
