Around Mours-Saint-Eusèbe

A lovely walk around Mours-Saint-Eusèbe along small roads, paths and tracks, crossing the River Savasse, and discover the ponds reserved for fishing but which are also a lovely spot to sit and relax for a while.

Description of the walk

Start in the village centre above the primary school (Place du 19 Mars 1962).

(S/E) Head towards Peyrin along the Route de Mours (D538) and continue up to the first road (Chemin des Perrières) on the left.

(1) Turn onto this road and continue to the junction with Chemin de la Rivière.

(2) Turn right onto the small road, which becomes a track at a shed, and continue for about 500 m until you reach a dyke.

(3) Take the path on the left which runs above a road; at the end, follow the small track to the right along the field, with the River Savasse on your left. Follow it until it climbs up and reaches the information board.

(4) Take the footbridge over the River Savasse, then the ford, join the road and continue left along the road which joins the D53.

(5) Cross carefully, then continue straight ahead along the flat track for about 400 m until you reach the bend where you join the GR®422 coming from the right.

(6) Leave the track and head left onto a path for about 250 m until you reach a fork on the right.

(7) Turn right towards the ponds, walk between them and take the time to visit them, making the most of the opportunity to take a short break in this charming spot. Jointhe D53; take care at this dangerous junction.

(8) Cross over to the other side and follow the road back to the car park at Mours-Saint-Eusèbe (S/E).

A winter walk that allows you to stroll across the plains. The route is easy and presents no particular difficulties. The main attractions are the landscaping works and the ponds. I would recommend a quick tour of Mours-Saint-Eusèbe before setting off on your walk.

A beautiful walk along the Savasse and Martinette rivers, where you can see the safety measures put in place to prevent the former from overflowing. With little elevation gain, it's ideal for starting the year and getting back into shape. We are at the bottom of the valley, so there is no view of the Vercors, but a few beautiful villas and the pretty village of Mours add interest to a walk that is a little dull but pleasant.

An interesting route; the final stretch is lovely as it runs through woodland and alongside the Chaleyre ponds. A real gem. It’s easy and suitable for families. But be careful: there are many open sections. Watch out for the sun. Best done in autumn or spring, but not in summer. If it’s hot, make sure you bring plenty of drinks, a hat and sun cream.

A pleasant walk overall, with no real difficulty; few shaded sections, some of which are alongside the road. On the embankment, we walked through tall grass (watch out for ticks); it’s possible to take the lower route along the very quiet road.
A very pleasant section through the woods, as well as around the ponds.
I think I’ll do it again in the autumn or early spring.
