Park in the car park opposite the town hall.
(S/E) Take the road, keeping the town hall on your right. At the end, turn right and continue to the Casteljaloux–Damazan crossroad (D11).
(1) Turn left then right, cross this road and take the path leading uphill. Follow this path through the Bois de la Gouère, keeping to the right, passing between wooden posts until you reach an open area.
(2) Take the path leading down opposite, reach a T-junction and turn right. Ignore thefirst turn-off on the right and take the second oneon the right. Follow this sandy, downhill path until you reach a fork.
(3) Turn left and follow the path straight on until you reach the hamlet of Le Lanin.
(4) At the four-way junction, take the road on the right which descends steeply, cross the D11 and continue straight ahead towards Le Coupey.
At the very bottom, cross the road and take the path leading straight ahead, slightly to the left. Cross a stream and follow the path to the junction at the top of the climb.
(5) Turn right and follow the road, which then becomes a track. Walk past a building and join a cross-road at the bottom, near the village of La Réunion.
(6) Turn left and follow the road for about 500 m until you reach a path on the right a few metres before a copse on the left.
(7) Turn right onto this track, cross some cultivated fields, then go round a water reservoir and, after the houses in Besse, reach a road.
(8) Turn right and head towards the village and the car park opposite the town hall (S/E).
. It was raining that day and the ground can quickly become very clayey and sticky towards the end, so be careful – trainers don’t cope too well! Perfect for people who can’t climb or for young children. The fact that it’s circular is obviously handy too. It took us 2 hours. We should have turned right at point 6, as sophiepatrick.campe suggested earlier (I’d forgotten!).
