Park at Place du Monument aux Morts, in front of the town hall.
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, go round the building to the right and walk between it and the tennis court. Go up the steps, walk through the centre of the garden to the fountain and leave via Rue d’Harcourt opposite. Take Rue du Tout ou Rien, which slopes down to the left, to pass under the gate of the north tower (visits are possible by asking for the key at the town hall).
(1) Turn right and follow the Allée du Paravis for about 100 m, then turn right again and take the road towards Nérac and Espiens, via the Allée du Foirail, until you reach the bridge over the Auvignon on the left.
(2) Cross the bridge via Allée de Truc and turn left on leaving Bruch onto the road to La Ponte; continue for about 200 m until you reach the transformer.
(3) Take the grassy path on the right in front of the transformer. Follow this grassy then stony path marked with yellow signposts. As you emerge from the woods, carry straight on along the road climbing between two vineyard plots until you reach a house at the top of the hill.
(4) Ignore the road on the right; carry on straight ahead, between the house and the vineyard, first on the road and then along the stony path, until you reach a road where you turn left.
(5) Follow the road to the left for about 200 metres, running alongside two vineyard plots separated by a path.
(6) At the second gap between the vines, go down the grassy path on the left between two rows of vines and continue along this descending path which leads to the hamlet of Maripey.
(7) Pass between the houses (there are dogs running free that bark but are friendly) and continue along this road, which becomes Rue Voltaire and leads down to Montesquieu. In the village of Montesquieu, at the junction with a Stop sign, you’ll see the church of Montesquieu opposite.
(8) Turn right onto Avenue Jean de Secondat for about 200 metres, then turn right onto a small, hairpin-bend road towards the leisure ground (boulodrome), following the yellow arrow. At the leisure ground, take the grassy path on the left behind the toilet block towards the Pont de Ninon. Follow the yellow-marked path which runs alongside the Ruisseau de Malet to the Pont de Ninon; cross the bridge, then continue to the left, following the hedge and the stream on the other side until you reach a road.
(9) Take the road to the right (signposted ‘Roc du Diable’ opposite) as far as the Gothic bridge at Balesté, then take the Route de Montesquieu. Turn onto the first road on the right (Route des Vignes or Route de Balesté) until you reach the top of the hill, passing Balesté Castle; then, at the three-way junction, continue along this road to the left until you reach the top of the hill.
(10) At the top of the hill, before a left-hand bend in the road, take the path – first compacted earth, then sandy – leading down towards the woods; continue through the Bois de Peyret, then along the edge of the Bois de Saint-Geniès.
(11) At the junction with a track, walk 10 metres to the left then to the right; enter the woodland via a narrow path that climbs slightly at first and continue until you reach a road, which you should take to the left.
(12) At the junction, continue to the right, pass the drinking water reservoir and, before the first house, leave the road to continue down the grassy path between the house and a vineyard. Continue downhill to Bruch, following the yellow signposts.
Cross the bridge over the Auvignon again and take the Chemin de Caillavère opposite to reach the market hall on Place de la Fontaine. Turn left, facing the south tower, go through the gate, then turn right towards the town hall and the starting point (S/E).

Watch out for aggressive dogs when you reach point 7 – they’re blocking the path.
