Description of the walk

Start at Ferme Boisquillon.

(S/E) Head due south along the quiet little road (C6) until you reach the D121.

(1) Turn right onto the D121 and follow it for about 800 m until you reach a field on the left.

(2) At the corner of the field, veer right then immediately take the path on the left and enter the woodland. Continue along the long straight stretch, which you’ll soon forget as you watch the animals (deer).

(3) At the end of this path, at the three-way junction, follow the path marked CR to the right. Continue straight on until you reach a crossroads at the Bièvre farm.

(4) Turn right onto the Chemin de Champeau, which passes to the left of the farm, and join a cross-road (Route des Étangs).

(5) Turn right, pass the entrance to Château de Bièvre on your right (hidden behind the trees) and continue straight on to pass Étang du Briou on your left.

(6) As you come out of the bend to the left of the road, turn left onto the path through the woods. Continue along this long straight stretch and reach the next crossroads after the bend to the left.

(7) Turn right, follow the Étang de Fontenazain on your left and arrive at the Ferme Neuve after crossing the meadow where deer or other four-legged creatures may be spotted. Continue straight on, follow the Étang de Pointiloup on your left and arrive at a path starting on the right.

(8) Follow this path to reach Ferme Boisquillon (S/E).

On my birthday, I went on a very pleasant short hike on a beautiful afternoon in the woods with its beautiful Sologne ponds.

As mentioned in a previous comment, the parking at the starting point of the farm is not suitable at all! I parked at the village pond (rue de l'étang), where there was plenty of space and shade. Just take a small path to reach the round-trip route.

Please note that the starting point at Boiquillon Farm is not ideal, as it is very difficult to park a car in this area

After 800 metres along the B-road between 1 and 2, the route is really pleasant.
Wooded lanes, a few beautiful houses and numerous ponds.
A small tarmac road between 5 and 7, but very little traffic.
