The starting point is 200 metres from the car park at the Fraiture hut (Belgium's second highest point) in the direction of Regné (Vielsalm). Park in the car park at the Fraiture hut and head towards Regné (Vielsalm).
Follow the yellow and white markers throughout the route (unless you want to take the unmarked land consolidation path).
(S/E) From the start, near a television distribution pole, descend into the bocage landscape of the Fraiture region, heading north-east. Ignore any side roads and paths.
(1) Don't miss the small chapel (on your left). Then continue downhill towards the village.
(2) At the church, leave the yellow and white markers for a while (you can continue to follow them to avoid the more adventurous paths) to take a detour through the undergrowth.
(3) Turn right and cross the meadows (pretty and bucolic in summer) but not cleared.
(4) On your return to the village (about a 1km detour and not accessible by pushchair or wheelchair), rejoin the yellow and white markers.
Pass by some holiday homes (which stand out a little too much in the landscape) and head towards the forest.
(5) Pass a fountain supplying non-potable water. Head back up towards a place called "Le Lierre", going around a downhill ski slope.
What follows is a long forest path where the scents of pine and deciduous trees mingle, offering superb panoramic views of the wooded, green valley here and there.
(6) Return (unfortunately) by walking 250-300 metres along the main road back to the starting point (S/E).
