Around the Étang de Saint-Quentin

The starting point is in the car park behind the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines sailing club, inside the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Leisure Centre (paid entry for cars, entrance at Montigny-le-Bretonneux near the national velodrome).

(S/E) Head east towards the paths that circle the pond, passing behind the sailing club, and join the dyke that closes off the eastern part of the pond.

(1) Facing the velodrome, take the dyke and, at the end, turn right to follow a path that passes behind the educational farm and the "Paradis des enfants" (Children's Paradise). You will arrive at a car park.

(2) Continue along the nature reserve and pass the Rigole du Grand Lit.

(3) Turn right and head towards the entrance to the golf course.

(4) Turn right to rejoin the path that goes around the pond. Be careful to take the paths that run alongside the golf course to avoid those that end in dead ends and would force you to turn back. Continue around the pond to return to the car park (S/E).

Walk around theÉtang de Saint-Quentin, part of which is classified as a nature reserve and is a migratory stopover and breeding ground for many birds. The leisure centre offers water and land-based activities.
