Departure from the car park of the Abbey of Sainte-Marie-du-Désert (Commune of Bellegarde Sainte-Marie).
(S/E) Leave the car park to the left, immediately take the road on the right and follow it to the hamlet of Bel-Air.
(1) After this place, take a grassy path on the right and follow it to the houses, then turn right and join a larger path. Continue to the right and join the D24.
(2) Go up the road to the left and, after 250 metres, in the big bend, take the small road down to the right. Follow it to the end, then continue straight on along a stony path between the Rey farm buildings.
(3) At the end of the path, continue left along the edge of the field. Walk along the small wood, continuing along the edge of the field to the right, and join the road to climb up to the junction with the D42a.
(4) Turn right and, after about 500 metres, take the gravel path on the left after the houses. Continue zigzagging along a grassy path through the fields until you reach the road at a place called Sourd.
(5) Turn right and join the D42. Cross carefully and take the path opposite. Follow it to the end, then continue to the right to join a tarmac road at a place called Esquilotte.
(6) Take thefirst road on the right, which descends and then climbs back up to the village of Vignaux.
(7) At the entrance to the village, continue along the road to the left. Note the wash house on your left but do not go down to it (except to take a look), continue straight ahead and take thefirst street on the right towards the cemetery and go past it to the junction with the D42.
(8) Continue straight ahead. After 400 metres, turn left, follow the road, then, at the next bend, leave it and continue straight ahead along the grassy path that climbs through the fields and takes you to the D24 after about 1 km.
(9) Follow it to the right until you reach the entrance to the village of Garac. In the village, take thefirst street on the left. Turn right at the end of this street, then left to join the D42A. Follow it to thefirst bend, where you should continue straight on towards Lac de Garac.
(10) Follow the edge of the lake to the right (without crossing to the other side) to the end, then descend to join the path. At the pumping station, go up to the right to the first crossroads.
(11) Follow the road to the left and join the car park of the Abbey of Sainte-Marie-du-Désert (S/E).
