Parking is available to the west of the cemetery.
(S/E) Head north-east along the Route d'Encausse. At the bend, continue straight on for a few metres until you reach a path on the left.
(1) Take this path, which runs alongside a field, continuing straight ahead until you reach the D634 at a place called Le Pénut.
(2) At the D654, take the small road on the right, then continue straight ahead on a path through the fields.
(3) At the end of the descent, turn right under the trees. Continue along the road, passing the Bois des Bouziques on your left. Shortly after the woods, go to the first crossroads.
(4) Turn right, heading south-east.
At the end of the tarmac road, continue straight ahead. The path heads south. Walk along the woods on your right, then the field.
(5) When you reach the D511, turn left, then take the first right and go down to the left-hand bend.
(6) At the bend, turn right onto an uphill path. Continue straight ahead towards Lac de Thoux-Saint-Cricq.
(7) The path shown on the map, which is supposed to cross the field and reach the shore, no longer exists. Take the very small path straight ahead, then turn right near the shore. Continue north-west. You will reach a fork in the path after about 10 to 15 minutes of walking.
(8) Turn right and go up the path through the field. After a left turn, continue along the lake.
Several paths on the left allow you to go back and forth to the shore. The path heads east, passes the Ruisseau d'en Peyroulet, follows the lake westwards and then turns left to reach the D511.
(9) The path around the lake at this end runs below the road, then veers away from it to follow the northern shore. When the path begins to turn left towards the south, look for a path that climbs to the right.
(10) Take the path, which is a little steep, and join Rue des Pyrénées on the right, which is extended by Rue du Lac, leading straight to the car park (S/E)
Beware of ticks in spring
why is there a yellow cross surrounded by red when it was the only passageway?
; we shortened it a bit when we reached the lake because the weather was wet that day and a bit muddy. Worth doing again!
