Around Fomperron

Parking is available in the car park at Place des Platanes.

(S/E) Head north, passing the church and the town hall. At the junction with the Route du Marchais, continue along the D58 until you reach the pumping station on the left.

(1) Turn left onto the grassy path. Cross a road and continue straight on until you reach the silos. Turn right onto the road towards Le Marchais. Walk through the village along the main road. Pass the Suzon wash house. Just after the left-hand bend, you’ll reach Rue du Logis on the left.

(2) Take this street, which quickly turns into a track just past the farm. Continue straight on until you reach the road leading to Les Andraudières.

(3) Turn left until you reach the D121. Turn right and follow the track on the left.

(4) Take this track which runs alongside the Bois des Boules. Reach the D58.

(5) Turn left and then immediately right at an oak tree. Continue along the track, ignoring the track on the right, until you reach a small road.

(6) Turn left and, further on, ignore the road on the right. After La Petite Matière, you’ll reach the D329.

(7) Turn left carefully towards the village and arrive at the car park where you started. (S/E)

An easy walk, but in wet weather, it’s best to wear sturdy shoes.

At the start of the walk, on Place des Platanes, there is a lovely restaurant worth trying.

You can take a detour to see the permanent fountain located not far from the town hall. There are also picnic tables.
