Around Estourmel

From Estourmel, follow the quiet paths that lead first to Awoingt, then to Cambrai and its narrow streets steeped in history. Description of the walk

Park in the small square next to Estourmel town hall.

(S/E) Go down Rue de la Victoire, turn left onto Rue de l'Église, ignore the street and the pedestrian lane on the left, then turn right and take the path.

(1) At the intersection, turn left. At the crossroads by the chapel, continue straight ahead, then turn right.
Near the woods, turn right, then quickly left, ignoring the two paths on the right and left. Go under the D643 and SNCF bridges.

(2) Take Rue Victor Hugo, ignore the street on the left and the two streets on the right. At the intersection with Rue Pasteur, cross and turn right. At the three-way junction, turn left then right onto Rue Léon Gambetta.

(3) Follow Rue Léon Gambetta, ignore the pedestrian lane on the right and the street on the left. At the intersection, turn left onto Rue Albert Mathieu, then left onto Rue du Docteur Calmette and take the path to Rue de Belgrade.

(4) At the intersection, stay on Rue de Belgrade and ignore the two streets on the left. At the traffic lights, turn right, cross the railway bridge and continue to the intersection with Avenue du Cateau. Cross at the pedestrian crossing on the left and turn right after a few metres.

(5) At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue François Coli and take thefirst exit off the roundabout onto Rue Robert Fougeray, ignoring the streets on the right and left. At the intersection, turn left onto Rue Michel Crépin and stay on this street, ignoring the streets on the right and left.

(6) At the entrance to the Vieux Chemin de Carnières path, turn left, then right at the sharp angle onto Chemin de Cauroir. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead and take Rue Théophile Risbourg.

(7) At the intersection with Rue de la Mairie, turn right, ignoring the street on the right and the alley on the left. At the crossroads with Rue de la Paix, turn left. At the intersection with Rue Lafayette, turn right and continue along the shoulder of the D113 road.

(8) At the intersection, turn right and take the path, then at the crossroads, continue left. At the crossroads, go straight ahead, climb the hill and continue to the red barriers on the right.

(9) At the crossroads, turn right and follow this path to the junction with the D643.

(10) Cross at the pedestrian crossing and go straight ahead onto Avenue Georges Clemenceau. At the intersection, opposite the town hall, turn right towards the car park (S/E).

(S/E) Recumbent statues of the Marquises of Estourmel in Saint-Vulgan Church, the neo-Gothic Bricout d'Estourmel Chapel and the Meadow, site of the Knight Reimbold Creton (First Crusade).
