Parking available just after the small bridge at the start of the walk in the meadow, behind the sign for “Chez Postillon”. Suitable for cycling if you like hills.
(S/E) A wide, steep path through the woods. It’s a lovely forest of conifers and deciduous trees that takes on magnificent colours in autumn.
(1) Turn right at the junction by the gate.
For a long stretch, the walk continues on a gentler slope, with an oak and beech wood on the right and conifers on the left.
The path, although still wide, is rockier with a central rutted verge.
Upon reaching a deforested plateau, continue along the path.
(2) Viewpoint on the right over a rolling landscape and a view of the distant horizon above Chateldon.
Once you have crossed the meadows, leave Chaussenoire on your right and turn immediately left at the junction onto a narrow single track and begin the descent. The path widens again and enters a new forest.
(3) At the junction, take the path leading down to the left. Take care on your bike, as a tree blocks the path. Above what appears to be a quarry, continue to the left and keep descending.
Cross a stream which flows into the Vauziron a few metres further on.
Continue along the path; there are no further junctions.
(1) When you reach the gate, go round it to the right to return to the starting point (S/E).
