In the cool shade of the larch trees at Les Orres

(S) From the top of the Pic Vert chairlift, head to the left: the start of the trail is marked by a large blue signpost displaying information about the walk. Join the path leading up to the Pic du Boussolenc.

(1) Follow it downwards to the left. Continue along the path, following the signposts and directional arrows marked with a Blue Circle and numbered 6. Continue the descent through the forest, sometimes on a narrow path, sometimes via short sections along 4x4 tracks. You’ll reach a place called Le Clotet: a pond and a picnic table. Cows are often found here at the start of the season.

(2) Carry on straight ahead, just to the right of the reservoir. You’ll soon reach a second picnic area, just above the reservoir. Reach the Grand-Clos reservoir. In light winds, a mirror-like effect is guaranteed!

(3) Go round it on the left and continue briefly along the 4x4 track.

(4) Turn right into the woods. Continue along the path, following the signposts back to the resort and the Épervière car park (E).
