Description of the route

(S/E) From the town hall, head down Rue Alphonse Baudin towards the Loire. Turn left to pass in front of the Musée de la Loire, then take Rue Thème on your left.

(1) Turn left and walk along the Loire for about 4.5 km, following theGR®3(red and white markings).

(2) On the way, you’ll pass by the Port-Aubry viaduct.

(3) After the bend where you leave the Loire, turn right and join the road heading towards the Chapelle Sainte-Brigitte.

(4) Continue straight on until you reach the hamlet of Les Courlus, then turn left into Rue des Vignes.

(5) Take the road on the left (D243) for about a hundred metres. Please be very careful – this is a very busy road.

(6) Turn right to enter the Villechaud woods. At the second junction, turn right; then, at the crossroads, take the second path from the left. Follow the path down to the well in the hamlet of Les Gaudry.

(7) Turn left and continue straight on to the place known as La Rue. When you reach the Fork in the road, turn right onto Chemin de la Rue and carry on to the second junction.

(8) Turn left onto the Allée des Cortillats, then right onto the Route des Millots (caution: temporary road). Continue for about 50 metres, then turn left towards Les Guérins.

(9) Turn right immediately after the level crossing and carry on straight ahead for about 4 km until you reach Rue Saint-Agnan, near the cemetery.

(10) At the Stop sign, turn left and carry on straight ahead until you reach the town hall, which is on the right at the second roundabout (S/E).

The first section along the Loire is perfect, but the second section is rather monotonous.
The route is very clear and easy to follow.
