Placey - Chemin des Combes - Parking available on the left at the edge of a thuja hedge.
(S/E) Continue along the path to the south-west. Reach the farm building.
(1) Turn right onto a wide path. Reach the D415 road and follow it to the left for about 100 metres. Then take the path on the right, through the fields. Reach a crossroads at elevation 241 (see map).
(2) Continue straight ahead, ignoring a path on the left, and walk alongside three ponds on the left-hand side. Cross the Breuil stream via a pretty stone bridge and arrive at the village of Franey via the Placey path (pretty fountain/wash house on the left)
(3) Turn left and, immediately at the church, take the tarmac lane uphill on the right. At the corner of the cemetery, follow Rue de Vauchon on the right. Cross a small wood, leave a hunting hut on your right and continue straight ahead.
(4) Leave the wide path turning left and continue straight ahead. Turn right with the path.
(5) At the fork, go right and walk downhill along a fence to quickly reach the Fontaine de Vauchon (be mindful of the crops on the side). Retrace your steps.
(5) Head south-west (to the right when returning from the fountain). At the T-junction, follow a path to the left for about 150 metres.
(6) Turn right at an acute angle and walk southwest through a meadow (avoiding walking in a cultivated field). You will come out onto a gravel path.
(7) Take the path on the left. First turn right then left with the path and walk slightly uphill. At the top, turn right.
(8) Follow a tarmac road on the left (Chemin de l'Église) and head eastwards on a slight downhill slope. Cross the village of Lavernay (church on the left). Follow the D415 on the left and cross the Breuil stream.
(9) Take Rue de Prêle on the right, climbing slightly, then turn left onto Chemin de Rougeolle towards the Grandes Fosses housing estate.
(10) At the edge of the forest, take a moderately maintained path heading north to reach a tarmac road (Chemin des Rappes). Take the road on the right. At the edge of the woods, turn left onto a rough track along the Le Dafoy woods.
(11) At the corner of the woods, climb over a fence and cross a meadow for 250 metres. Take the path opposite and head north-east to reach the farm building.
(1) Retrace your steps to return to the car park (S/E).
