Start from the car park at the Saint-Martin-des-Rosiers stadium.
Mountain bike route no. 8.
(S/E) On leaving the car park, head uphill towards the village, then turn left at the Stop sign. Follow the road for 1.2 km until you reach a small car park on the right.
(1) Take the track on the right (Route du Prat), slightly opposite, which begins to climb through the woodland. Follow the main track, take the hairpin bend and continue to the junction with the Route de Ponteux.
(2) Turn left, then, just before the end of the copse, turn right. Carry on straight ahead until you reach a field, then veer right and join the Route de la Plaine.
(3) Turn left, cross the Route des Crêtes and take the path opposite. After about 200 metres, turn left and follow the path alongside the fields. Pass through a copse, reach the Chemin de la Batie and turn right. Carry on, leaving the Impasse de la Bâtie on your left, and pass a house.
(4) Turn left onto the path leading down towards the village of Fay-le-Clos. Reach the village entrance and turn right onto the D161. Turn left immediately and continue along the Chemin des Achards, running alongside the cemetery. Keep left at the next junction.
(5) At the stream, take the path just before it which runs alongside the stream for about 300 metres. Cross the stream and take the small path that climbs through the woodland. At the top of the hill, take the path on the left to return to a road. Turn right and continue to the cemetery.
(6) Turn immediately right and head uphill through the woodland. After the hairpin bend, cross the Avenon, turn immediately right into the woodland and continue alongside the stream.
(7) At the junction, turn left onto Chemin Poudoux. Continue to a crossroads, turn right and, after the house, take a path on the left.
(8) Carry on along this path through woods and fields to reach the D51 at Azieux.
(9) Cross the road and take the wide track opposite. A little further on, on the left, a lovely path begins.
(10) Turn left, cross the Claveyson road, then keep right at the next junction to follow the Galaure.
(11) Go under the bridge and continue along the sandy, undulating path beside the Galaure.
(12) At the sewage treatment works, head straight on and continue along the river.
(13) Cross the road, take the path opposite and, further on, continue along a new path through the woodland alongside the Galaure. At the end, turn left. You’ll come to the D51; take Rue des Chênes opposite. At the end of the street, take the path on the right.
(14) At the footpath, take a short, slightly technical track which climbs to the left. At the top, turn left and continue along the road, then along a wide track to return to the ridges.
(15) Pass the house on your left, join the Chemin de la Plaine, then turn right.
(16) At the junction, turn left. Ignore the access road to Les Moïlles and, at the next crossroads, turn right.
(17) When you reach the house, take the path on the right.
(18) At the next junction, turn left and continue along the path until you reach the hairpin bend (Les Billes).
(19) Turn right and carry on through the woodland until you reach the Chemin des Pierrelets, keeping in the same direction.
(20) Head uphill to the left until you reach the Route de Châteauneuf.
(21) Take the small road opposite. Cross the Bancel and begin the very steep climb to reach the Chemin des Crêtes.
(22) Turn left towards Saint-Laurent.
(23) At the Col de Barbe Bleue, cross the road towards the campsite and take the first track on the right for 2.5 km.
(24) At the radio mast, veer left.
(25) At the Tour d’Albon, take the path on the left. Join the D301, then turn left after a few dozen metres.
(26) At the “Les Terreaux” signpost, take the path on the right. A little stony at first, the descent becomes sandy and great fun in the second half.
(27) At the road, turn left and head back to the starting point (S/E).
