Snowshoe trail no. 5.
(S/E) From Chaud Clapier (signpost), walk uphill with your snowshoes in hand along the departmental road for 300 metres until you reach the intersection indicating the hamlet of Font d'Urle (watch out for cars). At the fork, turn left towards Vassieux.
(1) About 50 metres further on, take the groomed track that branches off to the right. Follow the specific snowshoe markings southwards.
(2) In the hollow of a hairpin bend to the left, leave this beautiful groomed track and take a small trail that climbs south-southwest towards the Gagères plateau. On the plateau, follow the specific snowshoe markings on wooden posts and head southeast. Reach the edge of the forest and arrive at Pot de la Croix (post).
(3) Turn left (north-northeast) and begin the descent, following the markings along the forest before entering it. A little further down, join the groomed GTV trail.
(4) Continue downhill through the forest, north-northeast, to Prairie de la Chau.
(5) Turn left (west) and climb back up, following the markings, still on groomed tracks.
(1) Return to the road and quickly reach Chaud Clapier (S/E).
