Description of the walk

Park in the Col de la Chau car park.

(S/E) Head north to climb into the forest, reaching the meadow and the Grange de Vauneyre.

(1) Take the uphill track on the left, at the Petit Pré bends, continue straight ahead to avoid the circular loops in the track. Then rejoin it.

(2) Follow it for a few hundred metres until you reach a crossroads.

(3) Leave the track here, take the path on the right and, following a relatively straight and very slight uphill section, reach the Col de la Mure.

(4) Then take the left-hand path across the Pelouse de Derbounouse. Be careful on this section as there are many karstic caves, so take great care to avoid the various faults between them. Then join the Grande Traversée du Vercors path and snowshoe route no. 6.

(5) Take it on the right and you will soon come to a crossroads.

(6) Here you have two options:
- to make a small circular route, turnleft to find the crossroads of the track you passed earlier, then retrace your steps to return to the Col de la Chau car park (S/E),
- to continue on the snowshoe route, which is the route shown on the map. Join the Chemin de Pied Saint-Martin.

(7) Stay on the snowshoe route and reach the junction with the D76.

(8) Turn left and continue through the forest, passing through a designated area before reaching the Col de la Chau car park (S/E).
