Other walks in the area
Circular on the heights of Saint-Louis-en-Isle
A lovely walk in the forest. Well shaded, ideal for walks on sunny days. The path is very easy to follow. This route has a slight elevation gain with gentle ascents and descents, making it ideal for a Sunday outing with the family. We completed the route in 1 hour and 15 minutes with a group of adults walking at a leisurely pace.
Circular loop of the Château de Mauriac
The walk begins gently with a discovery of charming hamlets boasting a rich architectural heritage, continues through the forest, and finally returns to the starting point via the narrow streets of the village of Douzillac.
Valareilh (Vallereuil)
A challenging hike mainly on shaded woodland trails or paths. Beautiful views of the valleys and small hamlets scattered throughout the countryside.
The Tom Thumb Trail in Beaupouyet
Follow Tom Thumb through the vineyard forest: the red caps he has scattered among the trees show you the way. But you’ll also need to find the objects and characters from Charles Perrault’s tale: they’re hidden right nearby.
St-Jean and St-Séverin d'Estissac, the Landais Trail and the Bost walk
No major points of interest on this circular route, apart from the charming little church in Saint-Séverin. Peace and quiet, peace and quiet, peace and quiet, and birdsong! A succession of quiet country lanes and fire tracks for the first, longer section. The final stretch between the two villages is more varied. Option to shorten the route.
Circular loop in the Peyrauds Forest
This short forest walk takes you off the beaten track. It is very peaceful, and you are unlikely to meet anyone. You will walk alongside a small, tranquil pond, ideal for a break in the heart of nature and to enjoy a moment of serenity.
Moulin de la Grave circular
Between meadows and shady paths in the undergrowth, this hike allows you to discover the wetlands of the Gau wash house as well as the ponds and landscapes of the Double Forest.
Discovering the ponds of the Double Forest
Passing through pretty little meadows nestled in the forest and along forest paths in the undergrowth, this hike takes you to numerous ponds and shows you the diversity of the landscapes of the Double Forest.
