Circular on the heights of Saint-Louis-en-Isle

A lovely walk in the forest. Well shaded, ideal for walks on sunny days. The path is very easy to follow.
This route has a slight elevation gain with gentle ascents and descents, making it ideal for a Sunday outing with the family.
We completed the route in 1 hour and 15 minutes with a group of adults walking at a leisurely pace.

Description of the walk

Park at the side of Chemin de la Cabane after passing the houses.

(S/E) Head north on Chemin de la Cabane and you will soon reach a Y-shaped crossroads.

(1) Continue straight ahead and, after a left turn, you will reach Chemin Napoléon.

(2) Turn right, walk along a pond, then arrive at the Ruisseau de la Beauronne ford.

(3) Continue right along the forest path and you will reach the ponds.

(4) Between the two ponds, turn right and continue through the forest until you reach a beautiful building (Bois Carré). Climb up to a plateau and arrive at the GR®646 crossroads.

(5) Take it to the right and continue to an intersection.

(6) Leave the GR® and turn right onto the wider path to quickly return to the initial crossroads you passed on the way there.
