Lincolnshire Wolds

Starting from Ludford, this dog-friendly walk joins the Viking Way long distance footpath and leaves the village past the old 101 Squadron airfield, skirting the edge of the Deserted Medieval Village at Wykeham and leaving the Viking Way. Onwards and upwards to Great Tows, the highest point of the walk where there are fine views of the Wolds top and often a brisk breeze blowing.

This is an enjoyable, circular walk of 6.5 miles from Louth to Tathwell and Raithby. The route crosses fields and follows grass tracks to explore these small hamlets. Great views towards Stenigot Mast and beyond can be seen on a clear day.

This walk takes in the high points above Hubbard’s Hills before dropping down into the secluded Welton le Wold valley. Explore the historic church and parkland at South Elkington before journeying back to Louth.

This is a delightful walk taking you high into the Wolds. There are fine views to the coast and back to Louth with St James's Church spire visible for miles. Walking along tracks and paths, this really does give a flavour of hilly Lincolnshire.

The route follows grass tracks and quiet lanes as well as across some arable land. There are excellent views of the Lincolnshire coast and Alford town from the ridge and Rigsby. Rigsby church has Norman features and a fine 15th century carved font.

Here the Lincolnshire Wolds meets the Lindsey Marsh. Centred around three market places, there is a wealth of 17th and 18th century buildings including a thatched Manor House, a working windmill and fine 14th century church.
