First day of a 4-day circular starting from the Laval car park in the Upper Clarée Valley. As with the other parts of this circular, this route is intended for experienced hikers who are accustomed to high mountains.

This 4-day circular bivouac is for experienced hikers. It does, of course, follow sections of marked trails (GR®,GRP®), but the nature of the terrain when off-trail requires extreme caution (rock falls) and a solid knowledge of navigation, especially in unpredictable weather. The daily summit climb is obviously dependent on your equipment (crampons?), weather conditions (snowfields?) and your physical fitness.

Day 2 in the Clarée Valley: ascent of Pointe des Cerces (unmarked mountain route), passage to Lac and Source de la Clarée and climb to the second bivouac at Lacs de la Madeleine (off-trail on the final section). As with the other parts of this circular, this route is intended for experienced hikers who are accustomed to high mountains.

Third day of the circular with ascent of Mont Thabor (highest point of the route) via the oldGR® trail along the Roche du Chardonnet ridge and the Valmeinier Glacier, which presents certain difficulties compared to the newGR® route. As with the other days of the circular, this route is intended for very experienced hikers who are accustomed to high mountains.

Last day of the circular, returning to the Laval car park via the Col du Vallon and the Pic du Lac Blanc, from where you can see the route of the previous three days.

Third day of a 4-day route in the Vanoise Massif. A beautiful ascent along the Gébroulaz Glacier and a lunar landscape via the Col du Soufre

This four-day summer circular route is designed for independent hikers who do not wish to stay in or near mountain huts. Consequently, the bivouac sites are located outside the Vanoise National Park and the Plan de Tuéda Nature Reserve.

Second day of hiking on a 4-day route in the Vanoise massif. A wonderful mountain experience as you cross the Col du Rateau and the Passage des Eaux Noires, which are rarely visited. Views of Mont Blanc.

First day of a 4-day route in the Vanoise massif. A very pleasant climb along the ‘100-bend’ path to reach the summit of the Petit Mont Blanc and its orientation table. A lovely end to the day in the Combe du Rateau.

Fourth day of a four-day route in the Vanoise massif. A very beautiful mountain route passing through the Petit and Grand Cirques du Marchet.
