From Guewenheim to Hundsruck via Rammersmatt and then the heights of Bourbach
Enjoy a long hike starting from the centre of the village of Guewenheim and heading towards the Col du Hundsruck. You can enjoy beautiful views of the plain, Lake Michelbach and the heights of Bourbach, and have a meal at the Chalet du Hochburg in Rammersmatt. In good weather, you may be able to see the snow-capped mountains of the Alps.
On the heights between the Doller and Thur valleys
Discover or rediscover the views from the heights between the two valleys. This route will allow you to see the valleys from different angles, starting with the Fuchsfelsen, then the Rossberg, and finally the Belackerkopf. If you feel like it, you can enjoy the mountain produce available at the Gsang and Belacker farmhouse inns. At the end of the route, you can also take a break at the Stahlberg Refuge (wood-burning stove and tables available on site).
Ascent to Grand Ballon from Jungholtz
This long hike will allow you to enjoy the many views offered by the Col Amic and the climb to the Grand Ballon. You can also stop for refreshments at the various farm inns located along the route. It's the ideal way to spend a sporty day in the open air on the highest peak in the Vosges.
The Blaufels shelter through the Willer-Bitschwiller forest
Enjoy a beautiful unobstructed view of the Thann valley from the Blaufels shelter. The route is shaded as it is mainly in the forest, ideal for hot summer days.
Schlumpf trail, Fennematt, Lochberg from Niederbruck
Enjoy the beautiful view from the Schlumpf trail. The Grand Ballon and the Ballon d’Alsace will be visible among the other surrounding peaks overlooking the Masevaux valley floor. Make the most of this route to stop at the Ferme-Auberge du Lochberg for a bite to eat or enjoy a packed lunch at the Graber Breitenstein shelter.
Grand Ballon - Col du Haag - Route des Crêtes circuit
This circuit will take you to the highest peak in the Vosges, offering views of the Alps in good weather. You can admire the surrounding Vosges peaks and high-altitude villages such as Geishouse and Goldbach-Altenbach.
At the start and finish points, you will find various places to eat and a shop selling local products. During the walk, don't hesitate to stop at the Haag farmhouse inn to enjoy their local cuisine or to quench your thirst.
