Around Loe Pool from Helston

Park your car in Fairground car park.

(S/E) Head to the footbridge which crosses River Cober and turn left to the path along the river for almost one kilometre.

(1) You go past Penrose National Trust car signpost until the path bends right in woods and reaches an asphalt road. Then, turn left following this road which goes past Helston Lodge and continue along the road with protecting barrier.

(2) At crossroads, bear left heading to the Stables (500 metres), go past the property and continue straight to Loe Bar ignoring the inland route on the right. Keep the road (blue arrows bridleway) with nices views until you reach Bar lodge next to the beach.

(3) Bear sharply left (coast path to Gunwalloe), descend towards the beach and go across it heading to The Loe (at the water's edge) until you find again the path along the lake.

(4) From this point, notice that if this next section is flooded you can use an alternative footpath indicated on the right!. If it's dry keep the main path, cross a small footbridge then a bigger one which turns left next to Carminowe Creek.

(5) Past the second footbridge, bear left along the creek, go past Lower Pentire Bar and go straight for 150 metres. Then, turn left onto the path at the next junction (blue arrow) and keep the left at the fork in the open field until you reach wooden gate when you enter the woods. From this point you will follow yellow arrows in Degibna Woods!

(6) Keep the left path every time except here because the left path goes down to the lake. In any other junctions, follow yellow arrows!

(7) The footpath finally joins the Bridleway and reaches a road where you slightly ascend left.

(8) Go past an old chimney stack and walk along the road for one kilometre until you reach Fairground car park on your left.(S/E)
