Mullion, Polurrian Cove, and the Chocolate Factory

(S/E) From the car park >>>, the route follows a mainly southwesterly direction, across St Mellan's Park, and along Laflounder Lane, to where a coastal path joins the lane on the left. To extend this route, which will add another 2.5 miles to the walk, see (E)

(1) Head left, southwest down the path to the bottom of the valley.

(2) At the bridge, the route works its way up the hill, toward Polurrian Hotel on the cliff top. Handrail the cliff top along the path towards another hotel, Mullion Cove Hotel, after which, views of Mullion Cove and an old cannon.

(3) At the small roundabout, which is joined by the path that continues east, past the hotel complex. The track will lead through farmland, handrail the hedges. The track will arrive at Mullion Meadows car park.

Option: There is a cliff path which weaves down to Mullion quay, which will be off route. To return, head east up the B3296 to the Chocolate Factory, to rejoin the route.

(4) From Mullion Meadows, the last section follows the main road, B3296, up through the village, keeping the church on the right to (S/E).

• Appropriate footwear, clothing, and drink.
• Paid the appropriate parking dues.

Consider also downloading nearby walks, Mullion, the Poldhu Marconi Centre, and the Monument. Extending this walk along the Cornish Coast to finish up at the chocolate factory, where refreshments are available.

Transport: There is a bus service passing through Mullion. Timings of the buses should be confirmed, allowing for the return trip.

Parking: Vehicle parking - Village Car Park at the start.

Timing: The time taken is estimated, to allow extra time, when appropriate, for exploring, personal pace etc.

Note: Ensure that the highway code is followed and that dogs are kept under control.

Wellbeing: Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the conditions. Although this is only a short walk, keep hydrated.

Accessibility: This section has some steeper sections; care when ascending and descending the cliff paths.

Refreshments: There is a convenient cafe at the Chocolate Factory, plus local shops in the village.

Option: This is a circular route that can be walked either way, and can be extended as described (E).
