(S/E) From the car park, walk down the lane, Bowling Green Road, which will lead into a track toward Polwartha, continue down to Goongillings, turn left in an easterly direction to Polwheveral.
(1) At the bend in the road, turn left up the track, following it north; the stream will be on the left. This track will pass a water treatment works on the left.On meeting a lane, turn left, in a more westerly direction, cross over the bridge. See old mill house next to the stream.
(2) The track veers slightly right off the lane, appearing like a muddy drive, the stream will be on the left. follow the stream up. The track will be a woodland path. From this point, the woods are yours to explore. There will be some old mine workings, one of which was a water wheel. Towards the point for turning left and up the woodland floor changes, it should be apparent, but following the app will give further assistance.
(3)There is a well-used path, turn left and up onto the higher level, heading now in a southerly direction, handrailing field hedges. Where this path lines up with where the waterwheel is, see the water holding area before the wheel with evidence of the water shoot, the leat supplying it, now dry, can be traced. The path will leave the woods, and houses appear. See on the right a granite water trough, the village water supply, from 1889 to 1960. Note the plaque. Continue walking into the village, turn right, then left to around the church (S/E).
