Parking: at the entrance to the village and in the village (school, post office), there are numerous free car parks available, particularly on the large shaded square. Please note, however, that on Tuesday and Friday mornings, which are market days, parking on the square is prohibited.
(S/E) Turn left onto Rue de la Pailhette and cross the bridge over the Lignon.
(1) At the end of the bridge, at the signpost "Le Chastelas direction Thueyts 11.3 km via Le Monteil", turn right and follow the Lignon river along the path that descends towards the bank. Admire the basalt flows. Cross the Roman bridge.

(2) Go down to the right and continue to the river to admire the basalt flows
(3) Return to the fork at the bridge.
(2) Take the paved slanting street on the right up to the road. Cross carefully to pick up the path opposite and reach a viewpoint with information about the volcanic eruption. Continue along the path to the hamlet of Le Monteil.
(4) Cross the hamlet to the Monteil signpost. Follow the signs for "Jaujac/Neyrac-les-Bains - 8.7 km via Seranglier" and you will come to a fork.
(5) Take the path on the right and continue straight on until you reach the Riou Cros stream.
(6) Turn right, cross the stream, then join the road at Mas Reynaud.
(7) Turn right towards the "Séranjalier" signpost. Leave the road and take a path on the right to reach the locality.
(8) Follow the signs for "Jaujac 3.3 km via La Broussen 1.2 km", cross the road and, after about 30 metres, turn left onto the path. Return to the road and follow it to the left for a few dozen metres, then turn right onto the path. At La Brousse (signpost), descend to the right along the paved slanting street that winds down to the Lignon.
(9) Cross the Pont de l'Échelette bridge and enjoy the view from the viewpoint. Follow the D5 on the right until you reach the "Bonneval" signpost.
(10) Cross the road before the bridge and follow the signs on the left for "Jaujac 3.5 km via Larmande 1 km". Walk past the house and climb the path that joins the D119.
(11) At Larmande (cross), follow "Jaujac 2.2 km" and, after 250 m, turn onto the path that descends to the right and joins the Chemin de la Roche. Continue to the left to reach the D19 (Rue de Lalevade).

(12) Turn right, then left to follow the path that goes around the public school on the left and joins Allée Marie Sauzet. Continue straight ahead on the uphill path (towards Maison du Parc) under Château de Rochemure. Continue straight ahead until you reach the road, turn right and, at the signpost, turn left.
(13) At the "Peschier" signpost, go straight up to a crossroads.
(14) Turn left onto the path that goes around the crater of the Coupe de Jaujac volcano until you reach a cairn.
(15) Descend to the right into the crater.
(16) Climb up to the left to rejoin the path around the volcano, then leave it on the left just before it becomes circular (red signpost).
(17) At the "Gontier" post, turn right immediately, first into a wood, then around a large meadow on the left towards the Maison du Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche (Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park Centre): visits, exhibitions, etc.
(18) Go around it on the left and descend towards the centre of the village. At the cemetery, follow Rue du Trible opposite to return to the starting point (S/E).
a beautiful route that I would describe as volcanic, with basalt flows and the volcano's crater. Beautiful landscapes
