Car park before the Voie Verte.
(Out and back) From the car park, take the road leading down to the left (Route de la Gare), cross the Voie Verte (information sign) to join the D39 towards Plogonnec, which you follow to the right for about 200m
(1) Turn left onto the small road leading uphill, following the sign for Kergwenan. At the three-way junction, veer left, pass close to Le Rohou farm and continue uphill.
(2) The tarmac road continues as a wide, carriageable track running alongside the fence marking the boundary of the Domaine de Koat Ar Gazek Glaz. After passing the entrance to the estate, pass aPR®® sign on the right and carry on. Further on, the road becomes tarmac again and leads to a car park on the right.

(3) Follow theGR®® which runs alongside the Vieux Chatel, a residential care home run by the Championnet association, and reach the entrance gate to the centre.
(4) Enter the centre via the path to the left of the gate, turn left and, at theGR®® mark on a tree, turn right into the woods. Follow theGR®® markings carefully as the path begins a long descent whilst winding through the woods. Please note that the route shown on the map is not very accurate; do take care.
(5) At a crossroads, turn right onto theGR®® path, which widens as it descends towards a road just before the hamlet of Kerbellec. Follow this road to the left, pass a house and arrive at a junction signposted ‘Belle Vue’.
(6) Turn right, continue with Belle Vue on your right, and reach a large cultivated area overlooking the valley through which the River Névet flows. Turn right and walk along the edge of the field. There is a sweeping panorama of the valley: to the north-east, the village of Le Juch; and to the south-west, the Port of Douarnenez and Cap de la Chèvre on the Crozon Peninsula. Enter the woodland; watch out for aGR®® sign on the right (wrong direction), then look for the start of a path just before that on the left. Take this narrow path, which descends along a slope and leads to a stream, then past a lovely garden hedge marking the boundary of a property, before reaching a road.

(7) Follow the road to the left, leaving theGR®® trail heading off to the right, and continue to the next junction signposted ‘Le Juch’ to the left and ‘Douarnenez’ to the right. Follow the road towards Douarnenez for about 150 metres, then turn left at the sign for the Carbon lodges and Le Cosquer. Pass under the power line.
Leave Le Carbon on your left and pass under the bridge of the old Quimper–Douarnenez railway line.
(8) On the right, just before the bridge, take the path leading to a meadow, then join the Voie Verte heading towards Le Juch (west). Continue for about 2 km. This section of the route features a series of educational panels (see “During the walk”). Cross the Route de la Gare, which you took on the way out, and continue straight ahead. The village of Le Juch is on your right.
(9) At the old signalman’s cottage known as Kericun, leave the old railway line to the right and follow the road uphill towards the village. Cross the Ris stream, a tributary of the Névet. Turn right at the school; note the old stone-built houses on your right. Turn left to walk past the church, taking the time to admire this imposing 16th- and 17th-century complex, and turn right at its apse. Take a short round trip to the equestrian statue of the Baron du Juch (a recent work from 1952).
(10) Retrace your steps, take the path leading downhill on the right, veer left then right to return to the car park (S/E).
