Although the caves are accessible on foot, visits to the man-made tunnels connecting them are by booking only from mid-April to mid-November; click here to book.

There is a stretch of just over 3 km of road at the start of thesecond stage which cannot be avoided, as the woods between Bour and the Grand-Château d’Ansembourg are on private land.

Hiking boots are strongly recommended; the route is muddy and slippery in places due to leaves, damp and rocks.

A very beautiful hike, completed on Monday 9 May 2025 in a single stage, taking 6 hours in total. It was a shame about the end of the route (which is unavoidable, as indicated in the description, as the woods are private property). We took a short break to take a look at the gardens of Ansembourg Castle and Hollenfels Castle, which is currently undergoing renovation. Thank you for this beautiful route!
