Uzerche walks

A magnificent walk overlooking the Vézère river, following the route of the old "Paris Orléans Corrèze" railway line on the way there, returning on the other bank along the Vézère and crossing the old town of Uzerche.

The route first climbs towards Puy Chammard on a quiet road with clear views of Uzerche. After that, it mainly follows paths to make a large circular route around Espartignac, crossing the Troh stream several times. This part offers clear views towards Les Monédières. The route ends along the Vézère river.

Hike in the Vézère gorges starting from Vigeois, a charming little village where you can see a magnificent 11th-century abbey church, destroyed and rebuilt in 1489 after the Hundred Years' War. On this route, you will pass the old hospital (1840), cross the old bridge (12th century, known as the Pont des Anglais) and walk around half-timbered houses. A little further on, you will find an old carding mill.

This hike will take you to the ruins of two old mills dating from the 18th century, built on the Brezou stream. You can see old millstones, dykes, a supply channel and the ruins of the Moulin de la Forêt building with the water inlets under the mill.

This route from Lagraulière features long stretches through the Blanchefort Forest and crosses the Brézou stream several times.

A pleasant hike with little elevation gain, following wide farm tracks and quiet country roads.

Feedback from 19/12/2024. Still relevant on 25 August 2025.(!) The route is impassable from La Rechèze due to a crack in the pond's overflow. It is impossible to cross the path, which is closed by municipal order.This beautiful hike will take you to La Chartreuse du Glandier, founded in 1219, known at the time as "Notre-Dame du Glandier", destroyed during the Revolution of 1789 and rebuilt in its current state by the Carthusian monks in 1869.You will also discover the Étang de La Rochèze, built in 1457 to serve as a reservoir for the Canal des Moines (1457).Today it is an institute for people with mental disabilities.

A beautiful, mostly shaded hike from the Estivaux plateau to the Vézère. Much of the hike is on paths, including theGR®46. Some sections are not marked. The hike offers views of Comborn Castle above the Vézère.

An easy route with magnificent views of Forsac Castle and the village of Masseret. You will pass by Font Faure, a devotional fountain that is the site of a pilgrimage where the clothes of the sick are placed on the cross. The fountain is located in the beautiful and large forest of the same name, part of which is a hunting reserve, near Forsac.

A short walk near Chanteix where you can admire a pretty waterfall and its stream, the Maumont Blanc. An ideal spot for a picnic at the end of the walk. The hike is easy, with only 400 metres of road.

Meuzac welcomes you for a walk rich in natural heritage (Limousin bocage and forests) and architectural heritage (fortified Romanesque church). You will come across numerous ponds, including the Plan d'Eau de la Roche (swimming) and the Plan d'Eau de Forgeneuve (water skiing). Don't miss the Père Castor media library. A very pleasant walk through the forest, offering exceptional views of the Objat valley at the end of the route.Best done at the weekend to avoid any disturbance from quarry activities. User comment on 24 August 2025.(!) After the ruins of Patel, the footbridge (4) that crosses the river has collapsed and it is not possible to ford the river. A detour is signposted on site. This detour takes you to Rouffignac. Alternatively, you can follow "le chemin du Maquis", which is a little technical at at the moment. A pleasant walk on the heights of Voutezac, with magnificent views over the Brive valley and Voutezac.

A lovely route that takes you from the Saillant Chapel to the Chartroulle Chapel, discovering one of the rare vineyards in Corrèze, on the slopes of the Vézère in the commune of Allassac. A few steep slopes and paths that can be muddy in the rainy season, but a beautiful panorama.
