Park in the car park of the church in Auxey-Duresses.
(S/E) Leave the square by heading south along Rue du Pont Boillot.
(1) Cross the Ruisseau des Cloux, turn right at the end of the street, then keep to the right to stay on Chemin des Fontaines, heading west. Continue straight ahead for about a kilometre until you reach a crossroads.
(2) Turn left, then quickly turn right to begin climbing towards the cabottes. After about 300 metres, take thefirst path on the right and immediately keep to the left to follow a smaller path that quickly turns south-west.
Further up, pass a cabotte visible below on the left-hand side. Continue climbing for about 400 metres and you will find a signpost just after a right-hand bend.
(3) Turn left to leave the main path. Follow a narrow, winding passage before discovering a row of other cabottes. Climb to the right after the third one (no. 27) and continue north until you reach a new cabotte (no. 26) a little further up.
(4) Stay on the path that turns right and, after barely 100 metres, turn left, ignoring a path that goes straight ahead.
Stay on the path which, after a left turn in an area of scree, heads north again and reaches a picnic area. Continue and pass a final hut (no. 22) before quickly coming to a cross path.
(5) Turn right for a few metres and then left at the T-junction to continue north. Soon after, follow a hairpin bend and stay on the main path, which will gradually turn left until it heads south-west. Further on, you will reach a fork at the first houses in Melin.
(6) Leave the path that climbs to the left and keep to the right to follow the lane. Pass Rue de la Nourie and continue downhill for about 30 metres. Turn right at a stone barn and follow a stony path between the houses, which leads to a crossroad a little further down.
Turn right and you will soon reach the D973 at Place des Platanes.
(7) Use the pedestrian crossing to cross the D973 carefully and take Chemin du Cimetière almost opposite. Turn right after the bridge and continue straight on, walking alongside the vineyards on your left until you reach the D111C further on at another bridge.
(8) Turn left onto this road and after 400 metres, take a path on the left just before the water treatment plant.
(9) Turn left to leave the road and follow the vineyard on your right. After about 100 metres, turn right between two plots of land onto a lane leading to the farmhouses. Stay on this path, which turns left before the houses, and a little further on you will reach a wider path at a bend.
Turn right heading north and you will reach the junction with the D17E at a large wooden cross.
(10) Cross carefully and continue north on the tarmac road directly opposite. Ignore a path on the left and soon turn right at the next intersection. Stay on this small road, which climbs gently between vineyards and groves for about 400 metres until you reach a fork.
(11) Leave the tarmac road by turning right and climb up alongside the vineyards. Stay on the path that turns right a little further up, near a pine forest. Ignore a path that branches off to the right and continue straight ahead. Stay on this path, which winds its way through the woods for about 1 km before coming to a wide crossroads.
(12) Turn right and after 200 m, take the first path on the left between the fir trees. Turn right a little further on as you leave the fir forest and you will soon reach a fork. Turn left and then continue straight ahead, heading south-east at the next intersection. Ignore two more intersections and you will reach a wide track in a clear area.
(13) Ignore the track and continue straight ahead on a smaller path. After 100 m, turn left and walk along the first vineyard on your right. At the end of the plot, ignore the path that branches off to the left. Stay on the path that turns right and then quickly left to walk along another vineyard, still on your right.
Keep right at the next intersection and continue downhill towards the east until you reach the GR®76 trail.
(14) Turn right and stay on the GR® trail, walking alongside the vineyard and Montagne du Bourdon. After a slight right turn, you will see the bell tower of Auxey church. Pass a wrought iron kiosk and you will reach the D973 at the entrance to the village.
(15) Proceed very carefullyto the right on the road for about 60 metres and turn left onto Rue Traversière. At the end of the street, turn right and follow Rue du Dessous to the church car park (S/E).
