Departure from La Grandville. From the centre, take the Gernelle road. After 100 metres, at the calvary, park along the castle wall.
(S/E) Go down the road, take the first street on the right, ignore the next one and at the second one, go up to the right. Pass along the football field.
(1) Continue along the gravel path. Ignore any paths that cross it. Continue until you reach the stream that flows into the Fagne brook.
(2) Cross and continue straight ahead. A long path (more than 1 km), shaded by deciduous and coniferous trees, with soil that can be muddy in wet weather. Arrive at a place called Le Bannay.
(3) Turn 90° and come out onto an old logging site. Ignore the paths on the right and opposite (which lead directly to Gernelle), and take the one on the left down the logging site. It curves to the right and becomes grassy. Turn left onto the path leading into the undergrowth, which ends at a logging track. Follow this track to the right along the fields. Cross the Ruisseau Infernal stream.
(4) You will come to the Gernelle-Gespunsart forest road, which is tarmac. Follow it to the right for about 400 metres until you reach a place called Les Wèbes.
(5) Turn left into the woods, leave the road and begin a short climb to reach the ridge path. Follow it to the right across open ground in the middle of the fields. You will reach the calvary on the road between Rumel and Gernelle.
(6) Turn left towards the cemetery, where you can rest on a bench and enjoy the view.
Walk along the cemetery wall (west), ignore the path on the right, and immediately take the path on the left, which, after a grassy section, leads to Issancourt-Rumel.
(7) 20 metres before the main road, turn right into Rue du Tilleul. Continue straight ahead along the houses; the street becomes a path lined with hedges. It crosses a street coming from Rume; continue straight ahead and follow the gravel path along the contour lines. After passing through some undergrowth, it joins the D57.
(8) Take the path on the right that runs alongside a former equestrian centre. It climbs and follows the Ruisseau de la Belle Fontaine stream. After 800 metres, it curves to the right and crosses a path coming from Rume. Turn left and continue for 100 metres.
(9) Immediately turn left onto a balcony path. This leads to a small field and an orchard. Walk up to the edge of the woods and follow the path on the left to the road.
(10) Cross it, continue straight ahead on a slight incline on a sandy path for 700 metres and ignore the paths branching off to the right and left. You will come to another crossroads.
(11) Turn right for 20 metres and then left, leaving the water intake on your right. Take the wide path down to La Grandville and you will return to the car park where you started (S/E).
