Departure from the car park at La Roche-Saint-Secret-Béconne town hall.
(S/E) From the car park, walk down past the church and turn right. Head for the La Roche-Saint-Secret signpost (altitude 350 m) and turn right towards Chapelle de la Roche. Walk up the road for about 200 m, then turn left onto Chemin des Essards, following the yellow markings.
(1) After 150m, turn right onto Chemin des Condamines. Continue along the track, which becomes a path at the last house. Stay on the main shaded path until you reach the vineyards. Continue straight ahead, passing over a lavender field. At the end of the field, turn right and walk through a short stretch of woods to reach another lavender field. Descend to the left along the edge until you reach a track.
(2) Turn right towards the stone hut and follow the track to the tarmac road. Turn right again until you reach a three-way junction at a lodge. Continue straight on along Chemin du Verger.
(3) Just before a car park, turn left to walk alongside an orchard. Continue along the path that descends slightly to the left and joins theGR®®9further on. Before the Ruines de Béconne, descend to the left to quickly reach an intersection. Leave theGR®® and turn left. The path widens to become a track running between fields. Opposite the vineyard, turn right to reach the hamlet and then the D538 (and theGR®®9again).
(4) Cross the road carefully to reach the Chemin des Fonts and head towards Les Caminottes. Cross the bridge over the Lez. At the Caminottes estate, turn left. At the next intersection, turn right, then leave theGR®®9and take the path on the left that winds through the forest. Before a fence, take the path on the right to reach the Lez (steep descent with small hairpin bends).
(5) Still on the right bank, locate the start of the path, which is shaded at first and then climbs rapidly (view of the Ruins of Béconne). After 100m, take a path on the right (steep climb with hairpin bends). At the end of the climb, turn left onto a path in the forest. About 150m further on, turn right and then immediately left.
After about 200 metres, turn left to cross the marl sideways. Climb up to reach a lavender field. Turn right onto a flat then steep path, which becomes easier before descending a ravine in the marl. Climb back up to reach an open area and join theGRP®® (panoramic view). Turn left towards the Tour d'Alençon and join a track (option to make a round trip to the tower).
(6) Follow this track downhill until you reach a tarmac road. Continue along this road, pass the fortified farm and reach La Condamine.
(7) Continue straight ahead towards La Roche-Saint-Secret. Cross the bridge over the Lez and head to the village centre to return to the town hall car park (S/E).
