Park at the Lac de Charpal car park.
(S/E) Cross the dam and continue along theGRP®® de la Margeride, following the yellow and red markings, to the crossroads by the forest ranger’s house.
(1) Turn left onto theGRP®®, continue through the woods, cross the Ruisseau de la Calagne and head for the Chapelle Saint-Ferréol.
(2) Continue along this path, which is mostly downhill, to the hamlet of Vitrollettes. Walk through the hamlet and you’ll reach a three-way junction at the end of the bend on the right.
(3) Carry on to the right, cross a small valley and reach a junction with a track that starts with a hairpin bend to the right.
(4) Turn right and continue uphill (GR®) to the access road to the Truc de Fortunio.
(5) Follow it to the right until you reach the Truc de Fortunio observatory and the orientation table.
(6) After taking in the views, turn back and follow the road to the first forest track on the right, after crossing a strip of woodland.
(7) Take this track and walk gently downhill until you reach a crossroads at a place called Lou Devez.
(8) Continue slightly downhill until you reach a four-way junction.
(9) Take the path opposite to return to the original crossroads you passed on the way out.
(1) Follow theGRP®® in the opposite direction to return to the Lac de Charpal car park (S/E).
