Coming from Mende, about 1.5 km after Le Chastel-Nouvel, heading towards St-Chély-d'Apcher, at a place called Le Ravin Blanc, park in the large car park on the left.
(S/E) The starting point for the hike is at the entrance, behind the safety barrier.
The trail leads into the beech forest on a gentle slope to a stone bridge over the Malecombe stream.
The Fagette waterfall flows downstream from the stone bridge.
After the bridge, climb up the path, now strewn with stones, to the first intersection.
(1) Take the small path on the left.
Descend a few more metres and you will reach the next intersection. Leave the path that branches off at a 45° angle to the left and continue along the path in front of you. (These are not shown on IGN maps.)
Walk along the edge of the forest, following the fence, until you reach the hamlet of Asprettes.
(2) At the iron cross, turn right and head back up towards the houses. At the top of the hamlet, take the forest track in front of you, heading north, to the Brageresse farm.
(3) Leave the farm on your left and continue along the path.
When you reach the first houses in La Fagette, turn left and walk up the street towards the centre of the hamlet.
(4) Admire the granite buildings and the old oven. Turn around and walk back down to the bottom of the hamlet, following the stone path to the first intersection.
(1) Turn left onto the path that crosses the stone bridge to reach the finish (S/E).
