Circular route from Coulagnes Basses to Rieutort-de-Randon

Park in the car park at Place du Foirail opposite the post office.

(S/E) Leave the car park, keep the post office on your left and turn right onto Rue Mirabel.

(1) Pass the chemist’s and keep to the right at the Fork in the road further on, towards Saint-Amand. Walk downhill until you reach the bridge over the Colagne and continue along the road to the left.

(2) Just after the bend, turn right onto a tarmac track between the houses, just before the sign marking the end of the 30 km/h speed limit. Continue along the track which climbs through the fields. When you reach a tarmac road, take this to the right until you come to the first track on the right. Turn right towards the houses and then right again to reach a tarmac road.

(3) Turn right again and head downhill to a junction.

(4) Then turn left towards the campsite (signposted). Carry on straight ahead and pass through Coulagnes Basse to reach the bridge over the Colagne.

(5) Cross the bridge on the right and turn right straight away to pass between the houses. Carry on straight ahead along the path which leads to the first houses in Rieutort. Continue along the tarmac road, pass the cemetery and turn left at the junction by the chemist’s.

(1) Carry on for a few metres and turn left again towards the Place du Foirail and the car park (S/E).

There’s quite a lot of tarmac on this walk.

At point (3), you can head towards the houses and take a path that leads down to the campsite (less tarmac).

In wet or snowy weather, the climb from the Coulagnes Basses bridge to Rieutort can be more challenging (due to surface runoff and snowdrifts).
