Departure from Col de Pavezin, at the junction of the D7 and D30 roads.
(S/E) Walk west on the D7 "Route de la Terrasse" for 200 m.
(1) Turn left and stay on the path that veers southwest and arrives at a fork.
(2) Turn left and climb towards the ruins of Bélize Castle.
(3) Turn right (west) towards Crêt de Quatregrains.
(4) Continue along the ridge, ignore a path coming from the right and veer left downhill to the D62.
(5) Follow this road to the right and you will arrive at the Croix de Montvieux.
(6) Make a circular loop via small pass de Doizieux. Walk 300 m south to the hamlet of Le Châtelard.
(7). Turn right at a pond and, at the end of the bend, leave the road and take a path on the left that goes uphill. Pass the hamlet of Veylon (below on the right).
(8) At a fork, stay on the main path, the one on the left. Make a wide circular loop to the left to go around the 1023 m peak and arrive at Small Pass de Doizieux.
(9) Cross the D63 and head north-east, then east along the Odouard trail through the Bois de Neufond.
(10) Continue northwards roughly along the contour line, then descend to Le Châtelard.
(7) Continue north to Croix de Montvieux.
(6) Take the D62 road eastwards, which you took on the way there.
(5) Continue straight on towards Le Banchet.
::11:. Walk alongside the D62 for 300 m.
(12) At the stele, continue south-east on the Crêt de Baronnette track.
(13) Cross a path leading down from Château de Bélize and continue north-east on the track.
(14) Leave the track towards La Baronnette and continue to the Col de Pavezin car park overlooking the D7. Please note that the track is located just behind the piles of fir poles. Immediately turn right onto a circular bend, then take a second one. Arrive at the car park (S/E).
. Very few people on this Wednesday, but it must be different on weekends.
. So you have to go back down the road that leads to Grange Rouet to bypass the blocked path (see photo for detour). Picnic in the beautiful forest covering the Crêt de Montivert. The entire walk is pleasant and relatively easy as the entire return journey, from point 9 onwards, is practically flat. We will return to this hike as there are many possible variations.
