By car, drive through Vence and head towards Coursegoules, Col de Vence on the M2 road. After about 2 km on the road, pass the wooden signs for Baous des Blancs and Baous des Noirs, and you will find parking on the right.
(S/E) Take a small, stony path on the right, along the side of the mountain (there are no signs). Follow the yellow markers. You will pass between thyme and lavender and follow the road uphill, then the path descends into a forest.
(1) At the wooden sign indicating the direction of the baous or the return to the M2 road, turn left towards the baous. Pass a sheepfold and stable on your right and continue along a track that climbs uphill.
(2) At the hairpin bend in the track, leave it and continue straight ahead along a stony path. Cross a high-voltage power line above you and continue to the top of the path.
(3) At the sign for Baous des Noirs but not Baous des Blancs, ignore it and continue straight ahead towards the cross to reach the Baou des Blancs viewpoint. You can see the path from a distance. Climb a short slope between the limestone rocks.
(4) Once you reach the viewpoint, take the time to admire Vence and its landscapes, as well as the cross dating from 1896. Then turn around and retrace your steps to the signpost indicating the two directions.
(3) Continue on your way towards Baou des Noirs. You will cross fields and piles of stones, which are magnificent. You will come to a track, which you follow to the left for about 100 metres.
(5) Then take a path towards Baou des Noirs. After about 400 metres, ignore a path on your left and continue to the right. Along the way, admire the flowers and mountain scenery. You will also have a magnificent view of Baou de Saint-Jeannet. When you arrive at Baou des Noirs, you will hear the dogs from the SPACA refuge below.
(6) Do not take the panoramic path, but continue towards the summit of the baou.
One last climb will take you to the summit of Baous des Noirs, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of Saint-Jeannet and Vence, as well as Baou des Blancs, where you started.
(7) Once you have rested, the return route is the same as the outward route. Return to the crossroads with the track at marker 125.
(5) Turn right and at marker 126 (under the high-voltage line), take a shortcut called "Route M2" indicated on a wooden sign and descend to the starting point (S/E)
