Yellow markings on signposts
(S/E) As you leave the car park, walk past Saint-Collodan Church (look out for the ship sculptures on the south side and on the bell tower), first turn left then right to enter a dead-end road on the right before the cemetery, and continue along the path that leads down. At the first fork, turn left twice and head up towards the hamlet of Kerhas (at the far end of the cemetery opposite).
(1) Follow the road to the right, ignore a dead-end on the left and, at the Kerisbleis sign, turn onto a path on the right which crosses a wooded area and leads onto the access road to the two houses at Kerguen.
(2) Go round them on the left and continue along a dirt track that passes near a fountain and a wash house with a tiled floor, and, on the right, a large garden and orchard. Continue westwards, ignoring the access points to the hamlet of Le Manoir. Continue along the hillside. Turn right at the ‘Point de Vue’ sign (beautiful view over the Baie des Trépassés and the Étang de Laoual). Retrace your steps and continue to the right on the PR®®.

(6) Overlooking the sea, turn left and head towards Pointe du Raz (opposite, the Phare de la Vieille and, further on, the Île de Sein).
You will arrive near the semaphore.
(7) Turn left to pass close to it, then past the “Notre Dame des Naufragés” statue and continue to the end of the path, facing the rocky headland.
(8) Take a sharp left-hand bend to continue along the coastal path towards the south-east. Pass a headland and, on the right, find a path leading down to the sheltered harbour of Bestrée, a port formerly used by lighthouses and beacons to resupply offshore lighthouses and relieve lighthouse keepers.
(9) Walk up the small access road reserved for users and, at the bend, leave it to continue along the coastal path which descends into a small valley.
(10) Cross a footbridge, head uphill and, further on, reach a path on the left (PR®®Tourde Plogoff). Continue towards Pointe de Feunteun Aod (note the low-growing broom).
(11) Head up with the GR® trail, keeping to the path closest to the coast to discover the small sheltered harbour of Feunteun Aod (Fontaine de la Grève) (information panel). Follow the access road to the harbour up to the start of a path through the moorland.
(12) Turn right onto the path closest to the coast and continue due east along the coastal path which follows the seashore along the top of the cliff, then descend into a small valley (footbridge).
(13) Head back up, cross two more footbridges and arrive at the access road to the sheltered harbour of Pors Loubous, which was, in the 1920s, the most important in Plogoff. A monument commemorates the role played by this harbour in sheltering members of the Resistance in the winter of 1940 (information panel).

(15) Continue straight ahead, pass a cross and cross through Kergreiz.

Turn left at the sports ground car park towards the hamlet of Le Dreff.
(16) Turn right onto Rue des Mouettes, then turn off into Impasse des Embruns, which continues as a footpath, then a street between the town hall and the school. You will reach the D784.
(17) Cross the road and head to the car park opposite (S/E).
One of the most beautiful walks along the GR34 – no wind and lovely sunshine. Words cannot describe the beauty of Pointe du Raz, but there were so many people at the semaphore station for a Monday. After passing the hikers doing the circuit, I took a short detour to cut the route a little, as it was very hot inland.
