Description of the walk

Park in front of the tennis courts or on the other side of the departmental road at the Chêne de l'Empereur area above Grasse, in the Roquevignon district.

(S/E) Join the main road and follow it for about 120 metres until you reach marker 60 at theGR®4crossroads.

(1) Turn left and follow the path marked Tour de la Marbrière. Then cut across a
first forest track and continue until you reach a wide dirt track in the Marbrière neighbourhood at marker 67.

(2) Keep right to cross the Vallon de Rioucougourde and climb up to a new trail intersection, marker 64.

(3) Leave theGR® and its red and white markings here and take the track on the right to reach a ruin next to a topographical marker at marker 63.

(4) From this marker, take the downhill path, which is very stony, slippery in places, with stones to step over and quite steep, to reach the DFCI track and theGR®51at marker 62.

(5) Take this wider track on the right, which is easier to walk on. Go through the barrier and you will immediately arrive at marker 61.

(6) Take the tarmac road opposite to return to the initial crossroads at marker 60.

(1) Take the path opposite in the opposite direction to return to the tennis court car park (S/E).

A steady climb right from the start, much of it through the forest.
Lovely picnic spots with great views near the ruins.
The only downside is the descent between markers 63 and 62: 1 km at a 24% gradient on a stony path – take care if you have weak knees.
Conclusion: a lovely, enjoyable hike.

The route is proposed in one direction, and it is preferable to follow it in this direction because the descent allows you to enjoy the panoramic landscapes found at the summit.

It took us two hours to complete this route at a moderate pace early in the day. Two-thirds of the route is shaded, which is nice in summer. It can also be done as a trail run, taking care on the descent.

A beautiful hike with no major difficulties.
Only the section from point 8 to the forest track is unmarked, so you need to follow the GPS route carefully.
Beautiful panoramic views of the coast and the sea.
Well done to the hiker who created this route!

Pleasant hike, panoramic view of the bay of Cannes and Cap d'Antibes from the summit, however
I would reverse the direction of the hike, as the descent will be easier.
