Description of the walk

The starting point can be reached from Pré du Lac by taking the Route de Gourdon (D3). After about 2.5 km, turn left at the Parc d’Activités de la Sarrée and follow the road leading to the “Fun-Kart” karting track. A dirt car park is located just in front of the entrance.

(S/E) Head south towards marker 72. At the junction, take the track on the right to reach the three-way junction at marker 73.

(1) Leave the track and keep to the right to follow the path which climbs steeply. Reach a fork in the path starting on the right.

(2) Continue straight on, ignoring this path, and reach the plateau. Continue to the junction located about fifty metres before marker 74.

(3) Take the track on the left, which descends and curves to the left, just below the hamlet of Saint-Christophe. Then continue along the edge of the plateau until you reach a crossroads at marker 63.

(4) Continue straight on to join the GR®4 and marker 64.

(5) Turn left onto the GR® and follow the Vallon de Rioucougourde downwards, eventually emerging onto the Route Napoléon at marker 60.

(6) Head left and walk carefully alongside the road for about 40 metres, then turn left again to take the wide, level track known as the Chemin du Champ de Tir, which forms part of the GR®51, marked in white and red. Pass marker 61 and then marker 62, staying on this track which winds through the Bois de la Marbrière and leads to marker 73.

(1) Continue straight ahead, then turn left at marker 72 to return to the car park (S/E).
