(S/E) With your back to the car park, head towards the village of Île-Tudy, whose bell tower you can see, and follow the wide path on the dune between the Grand Plage and the campsites on your right.

(1) Take the first street, Rue des Rochers, which leads to Rue des Écoles. Follow it to the left, going around the cemetery on the right. Return to the seafront and turn right onto Boulevard de l'Océan, which leads to Jardin de la Pointe (view of Loctudy opposite and the channel leading into the harbour marked by the "La Perdrix" beacon. Also note the statue "Le Joueur de Luth" carved from an Iroko tree trunk).
(2) You can continue along the seafront (see practical information). Take the steps down to the narrow Rue de la Pointe and follow it to the left. Continue along Rue de la République to reach the harbour slipway and the square where the bars and restaurants are located. Continue along Rue du Port and then Rue Principale.
(3) Turn right onto Rue des Dentellières to reach Saint-Tudy Church (if it is open, it is worth a visit).
(4) Continue left along an alleyway (Rue des Marsouins) which joins Rue Principale. Follow it to the right and continue along Avenue de Bretagne.
(5) Turn left onto Rue des Îles, which is a circular route through a residential area, and continue along Rue de la Cité. At the end, turn left, walk about ten metres and, on the left, look for a grassy passageway marked by a wooden barrier, which leads to a grassy area opposite Anse de Pouldon.

Cross the Kermor dyke, built in 1853, which put an end to the island's isolation, and pass the oyster farming facilities.

(6) At the end of the dyke, turn left and take a path along the shore (this is a newly opened path and does not appear on maps). Follow this path between a sheep fence on your right and Anse de Pouldon on your left. Continue along this well-marked path. On your left, in the river, you can see Île Chevalier, the largest island in the Pont-L'abbé River.
Just before the path ends, descend to the shore to continue. A little further on, rejoin the path and continue to a small dirt car park (information panel on shorebirds).
(8) Turn right, follow the small road uphill and pass the farm buildings. A little further on, ignore a road on the left and come out onto the access road to Kerrien Allan. Turn left and then right onto the next road. Continue for a good hundred metres until you reach a path on the left.
(9) Turn left, cross the D144 carefully (this road is very busy in summer) and enter the football pitch opposite (signposted Stade USIT). Go around the changing rooms, walk along the back of the pitch, pass a pond called Mare aux canards and arrive at a crossroads of marked trails near a former holiday centre (Treustel on the IGN map).
PR® marked in yellow
(10) Turn right and follow the long straight path through a polder area. Cross a stream via a footbridge and continue to the car park of the water walking centre.

(11) Cross the car park and, heading south-west, continue along the path above the beach to return to the car park (S/E).
