(1) Take the first street, Rue des Rochers, which leads into Rue des Écoles. Follow it to the left, going round the cemetery on the right. Return to the seafront and follow Boulevard de l’Océan to the right, which leads to the Jardin de la Pointe (view of Loctudy opposite and the harbour entrance channel marked by the “La Perdrix” buoy. Also note the statue “Le Joueur de Luth” carved from an Iroko tree trunk.)
(2) You can continue along the seafront (see the practical information). Take a flight of steps, which leads into the narrow Rue de la Pointe; follow it to the left. Continue along Rue de la République to reach the harbour slipway and its square, where the bars and restaurants are clustered. Continue along Rue du Port and then Rue Principale.
(3) Turn right into Rue des Dentellières to reach Saint-Tudy Church (if it is open, it is well worth a visit).
(4) Continue left along a narrow lane (Rue des Marsouins) which joins Rue Principale. Follow it to the right and continue along Avenue de Bretagne.
(5) Turn left into Rue des Îles, which is circular and passes through a residential area, and continue along Rue de la Cité. At the end, turn left, walk about ten metres and, on the left, look for a grassy path marked by a wooden fence, leading to a grassy area facing Anse de Pouldon.

(6) At the end of the dyke, turn left and take a path along the beach (a newly opened path that does not appear on maps). Follow this path between a sheep fence on your right and Anse de Pouldon on your left. Continue along this clearly marked path. On the left, in the river, you can see Île Chevalier, the largest islet in the Rivière de Pont-L’Abbé.
Just before the path ends, head down to the riverbank to continue. A little further on, you’ll rejoin the marked path and continue to a small dirt car park (information board on shorebirds).
(8) Turn right, follow the small road uphill and pass the buildings of a livestock farm. A little further on, ignore a road on the left and come out onto the access road to the hamlet of Kerrien Allan. Turn left, then right onto the next road. Continue for a good hundred metres until you reach a path on the left.
(9) Turn left, cross the D144 with care (a very busy road in summer) and take the access road to the football ground opposite (signposted ‘Stade USIT’). Go round the changing rooms, follow the edge of the pitch, pass a pond called Mare aux canards and arrive at a junction of marked trails near a former holiday centre (Treustel on the IGN map).

(10) Turn right and follow the long straight path through an area of polders. Cross a stream via a footbridge and continue to the car park of the aqua-fitness centre.
