The route starts from the road leading to the hamlets of Les Bellons and La Gaillarde. There is only one parking space available at the side of this road, in a recess on the left. 50 metres before a green metal gate.
(S/E) Walk up the road until you reach a green metal gate. The start of the walk is marked in yellow. Take the first fork to the right to cross a wide path, which you should follow to the right.
(1) Very soon, you’ll come across a yellow marker inviting you to turn left to reach the middle of a bend. Continue along the path (straight ahead). Stay on the main path and walk towards Tête Ronde, which you can see, then arrive at a large crossroads with several possible routes.
(2) Go straight on towards Tête Ronde, avoiding the other paths that lead off in different directions, until you reach a forest gate. A few metres further on, you’ll come to a V-shaped junction.
(3) Turn right onto the path that climbs. On the left, you will see the Grande Tête Rouge (photo attached). As you climb this path, you will reach a junction with two equally significant paths, at a Fork in the road. Take the path on the right, which climbs a little more steeply.
(4) At the junction, continue to the right, still heading towards Tête Ronde, then, before reaching a large junction, look out for the small path branching off to the right. From here, the off-trail section begins. When you reach a large rock, take the path to the left of it, continuing uphill to reach four rocks that are close together. Go round them on the left, then climb a rock of just under 2 metres to reach the summit of Tête Ronde. Enjoy the view.
(5) Then head back to the large crossroads where several routes are possible.
(2) Turn left towards the cave. Visit the Grotte de Bauxite and then retrace your steps.
(2) Continue the descent to the left to the car park, taking the opposite route to the one you took on the way up (S/E).
