The starting point is the terminus of the Pays d'Aubagne et de l'Étoile bus line 14.
There is a small car park above the terminal, opposite the cemetery.
(S) Take the road on the right, heading up towards the village. Leave the cemetery on your right (Marcel Pagnol’s grave is the first one opposite as you enter, very simple and covered in flowers).
Head up towards the village. Do not turn left onto Boulevard Louis Pasteur, but follow the Carriero de Tambourinaire de San Estello to the right. Continue straight on until you reach a four-way junction.
(1) Do not take the Chemin du Colonel David Magnan straight ahead, nor the Chemin Gustave Durbec to the left, but follow the Chemin du Passe Temps which descends to the right. The markings are yellow. Further on, at a crossroads, go straight on towards the Col d’Aubignane. Do not take the Chemin du Passe Temps to the right.
(2) 100 m further on, leave the tarmac road and take the path climbing to the right. Yellow markings. Further on, the path meets a gas pipeline (small yellow concrete posts). Follow it to the right. Continue climbing the path until you reach a gate at the Col d'Aubignane. Do not take the track that comes in from the right before the gate.
(3) Go through the barrier. Do not take the path going up opposite towards Garlaban, but the track going down to the right.
(4) 100 m further on, a signpost indicates Angèle’s farm on the right. Follow the pale blue markings to the ruined farm where Pagnol filmed the movie Angèle. Then return to the track.
(4) Continue along the track to the right (light blue markings). Pass a second pass and head back down the track to a crossroads. There, do not follow the light blue markings to the right, but take a track descending to the left. Pass a gate. Further on, at a crossroads with a large well, take the track descending to the right.
Further on, at another junction, do not take the track leading down (La Font de Mai via the valley) but the path opposite, running level with the road (La Font de Mai via the panoramic path). After a short stretch along the hillside, the path arrives at a large farm (La Font de Mai). Just before this, on the right, below, is a wheat field. There is a refreshment bar open on Wednesdays and at weekends.
(5) The path passes in front of the farm near a large cedar tree, then descends to the right. Do not take the track coming in from the right; continue down to the gate. Exit and turn left onto the road.
(6) A little further on, take a track that climbs to the right (pedestrian access to car park). Go through a gate, cross a tarmac road and take the dirt track opposite to the car park. There, turn left towards the La Gastaude bus stop on route 14 (E).
The Pays d'Aubagne et de l'Etoile line 14 bus can take you to Aubagne station free of charge.
For cars, there is also a large car park at the finish line.
