(S/E) From the free car park opposite the Musson town hall, head south-west along Rue Adrien Victor, Chemin de Vaux, Petite Fin and Beau Séjour until you reach Rue du Plainsart.
(1) Turn left, cross the Athus-Meuse railway line and then turn right onto the country lane that climbs the hill towards the forest.
(2) Just before reaching Rue Firmin Dieudonné, take the path on the left. The route continues to climb through the forest until you reach the French-Belgian border. Follow the border line without crossing it to reach the place called Bois du Plainsart.
(3) Turn right until you reach the edge of the forest, which offers a beautiful view of the valley on the French side.
(4) Follow the path on the edge of the forest to the right until you reach the GR®570 = Sentier Transfrontalier des Mines de Fer.
(5) Continue left on this path until the GR®570 turns right and descends through fields towards Vaux-Warnimont.
(6) Leave the GR® and continue along the path at the edge of the forest to reach the Chemin de Vaux.
(7) Take it to the left until you reach a hunters' hut.
(8) Turn right and then take thesecond path on the left, following the border closely or from a distance until you reach the Grand Chemin de Coupe.
(9) The route suggested here continues straight ahead to the Ruisseau de Coulmy. A first shortcut is possible here by taking the Grand Chemin de Coupe to the left and going directly to point (11). Otherwise, continue to the ruins of the Moulin Coulmy.
(10) The route follows the stream upstream past a few houses. Numerous fallen trees made this section a little difficult when we passed through (2022). Take the path on the left shortly after the houses and continue straight ahead along the small Route du Bois Genot for a few hundred metres.
(11) Turn right and take the Chemin des Allemands until you reach the first houses in Halanzy.
(12) Turn left onto the path at the edge of the forest and continue more or less straight ahead.
(13) Hikers can choose to continue straight ahead through the forest to the point (15).
The suggested route branches off to the right and descends through the countryside to the railway line.
(14) Do not use the level crossing, but take the path to the left which climbs up alongside the old slag heap to the edge of the forest.
(15) Go around the slag heap and enter the nature reserve until you reach the information boards near the small pond.
(16) Retrace your steps and continue downhill to the right.
(17) The old Musson station is adorned with two gems that are not very local: an old red Micheline from the Jura and a blue Flemish tram. All you have to do is continue straight ahead and return to the starting point (S/E).
