Leave the D785 at the sign for Mont Saint-Michel.
The car park is at the end of the road.
GR®380 trail markers: white and red (very few)
(S/E) At the far end of the car park, take the stony path that descends towards the north-west (GR®).
Yellow PR® signs: at intersections
(1) At the first fork (junction with a PR®, sign), turn left onto thePR® which descends steadily through the moorland and arrives, just before a power line, at a crossroads of paths, including a GR®.
(2) Continue left on thePR® trail towards the northeast and join the D785.
(3) Cross the road carefully and continue along the marked trail towards Ty Blaise on the left.
No markings
(4) Leave thePR® and turn left onto a path between wooded area and heathland.
(5) When you come to a path on the left, take it to reach a rocky outcrop (305 m): viewpoint over the Brennilis dam lake and Montagne Saint-Michel, then return to the fork (allow about 700 m there and back).
Continue left on the only ridge path, still heading east. From this ridge line, on your right, you have a view of the other ancient mountain range: the Montagnes Noires. The narrow stony path crosses an area of moorland and heathland and arrives at a small road near a menhir.
(6) Turn left and, shortly afterwards, ignore thePR® signpost on the right.
Yellow PR® signs: at intersections
Continue and then turn left with thePR® you encounter. Follow this wide clay path heading north-east and dominated by Roc'h Cléguer (317 m). The path has numerous puddles that you will need to regularly walk around. Walk along a coniferous forest on your left and pass near a water reserve for firefighters (note the black colour of the water due to the peat). You will arrive at a fork.
(7) Go up to the left and head for Ty Blaise.
(8) Turn right behind the Ty Blaise building to take a path along the edge of a meadow that leads to the megalithic site called "An Eured Veign" (The Stone Wedding), consisting of 77 or 88 menhirs lined up in the moorland (information panel). Only a few are visible. Follow this westbound path. You can take a short detour to the left to an observatory with information panels on the maintenance of this natural area. Arrive at the D785.
(9) Cross this road with extreme caution and continue straight ahead along the access road to Mont Saint-Michel.
(10) Turn right and continue up the steps, which have been built to preserve the vegetation. The wide steps with several landings lead to a wide, stabilised path.
(11) Follow this path to the right to the summit, where the Saint-Michel Chapel (381 m) stands. From the top, there is a vast panorama of the artificial lake of the Brennilis dam to the east, the summit of Tuchenn Kador (383 m) to the north and the end of the Monts d'Arrée to the west. Retrace your steps (the steps shown on the IGN map were destroyed in the fire of summer 2022).
(11) Descend via the wide path and return to the car park (S/E).
