The walk starts at Epinay-sur-Seine station (RER C from Austerlitz station, towards Montigny-Beauchamp).
If travelling by car, you can park in Épinay-sur-Seine, near the station, and leave a car at theother station (Cormeilles-en-Parisis) for the return journey, or take the train back to the starting point.
(S) From Épinay-sur-Seine station, turn left onto Rue Henri Perronet and follow it to the end.
(1) Turn right onto Rue de la Saint-Médard, opposite the Pôle Musical Orgemont, then turn left onto Rue d’Orgemont. Pass the Stade Auguste Deloume via Rue des Provençaux, then enter the Jardin des Justes park on the left. Walk through the park and exit at the other end via Rue des Béarnais.
(2) Take this street, then turn right onto Rue des Basques, and left to rejoin Rue des Provençaux.
(3) Cross Rue des Gascons, continue straight ahead along Rue des Provençaux, and carry on along Rue des Déserts. Pass under the A15 tunnel.
(4) Turn left onto Rue d’Épinay and go under the D311 bridge. Go past a stop sign, then take the next street on the right, Rue Gaston Monmousseau. Continue along Rue de Vaucelle.
(5) At the end of this street, turn right and continue for about 200 metres. After the bus stop, turn left and enter the Parc de la Butte d’Orgemont. Cross the park on the left until you reach the crossroads.
(6) Turn left onto Rue de la Couronne d’Orgemont. You can visit the Moulin d’Orgemont, which is on your right, via Rue des Sables. Walk past the Orgemont Clinic along Rue de la Couronne d’Orgemont.
(7) Turn right onto Rue Ernest Renan (with a view of the quarry), then turn right again to cross the street.
(8) Take the path on the left, which leads to Rue de la République. Turn right onto this street, then left, and left again onto Rue Ring Bella Negra.
(9) At the end of this street, turn left onto Rue de Code. Cross the railway bridge, and further on, take Boulevard Jean Allemane on the right, towards Sannois.
(10) At the roundabout, turn left and walk past the Volembert schools, taking a small path. You’ll come out onto Avenue de l’Espace; follow it to the left and take Boulevard Youri Gagarine for a few metres.
(11) Turn right into the Parc des Châtaigniers. Walk through the park and exit via Rue du Petit Chemin du Bel Air. Turn left onto this street.
(12) Head towards the Moulin Vert on the right for a few metres, then continue straight ahead at the ‘Sannois centre’ sign, taking the Chemin de la Sablière via the steps. At the end, turn left onto Rue du Clos Bois, then right onto Allée de Cormeilles. Continue along Chemin du Clos de la Fontaine, then turn left onto Rue du Cèdre.
(13) When you reach the A15, follow it to the left for about 200 metres, then take the second left onto Rue du Puits Cohier. At the sharp left-hand bend, carry straight on along Chemin du Trou à Glaise. At the crossroads, carry straight on.
(14) Turn onto thesecond track on the right, heading north, and pass Les Aubines and Les Friches to reach Bas de l’Hermitage.
(15) Turn right onto the D122, Rue de l’Hermitage, and continue to the roundabout. Turn left onto Rue de l’Hermitage, pass through the Montfrais industrial estate, and continue to the roundabout.
(16) Turn left at the Engie station onto Chemin de Cormeilles à Franconville, go round the roundabout and pass the Montfrais care home.
(17) Just after Rue du Chemin d’Argenteuil, which is on your right, take a path on the right leading to the Montfrais Equestrian Centre, then onto a road called Chemin des Cotillons. Turn right onto this road and follow it for 50 metres.
(18) Turn left into the woods just before the A15, onto Chemin des Regards. At the end of this road, turn left and, a little further on, turn right onto Chemin des Rommes and into the Bois des Poules.
(19) At the crossroads, carry straight on into the Bois de Saint-Marc. Continue to the left along the Chemin des Meuniers until you reach the Route Stratégique.
(20) Turn right onto it, go straight across the roundabout and continue straight ahead, then take the third street on the left, Fort de Cormeilles. Pass the Gaston Frémont Municipal Stadium, continue straight ahead, and come to a road – ignore it – and continue to the right, into the woods.
(21) Take a footpath on the left, passing the first houses. Cut across Rue de Montigny and continue straight ahead along the Sentier Fontaine Saint-Martin. At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue Émile Zola, then left again onto Rue Paul Leboucher.
(22) Turn right onto Rue du Val d’Or, then left onto Boulevard Clemenceau and, once again, right onto the path leading to Cormeilles-en-Parisis station. (E)
