The route starts at the Chalet de l'As, which can be reached by car on a small alpine road that is easily passable. However, this road may be closed to motor vehicles during the summer grazing season.
(S/E) From the car park, follow the mountain road towards the Petit Lac, then continue along the path on the right towards the shepherd's hut, which is clearly visible.
(1) When you reach the hut, turn left and start climbing the first peak by winding your way up through the mountain pasture. The climb will be less steep than if you went straight up the front.
You then need to climb as far as you can see, following the ridge line. There are traces of a path up to the summit.
(2) Once at the summit, enjoy the panoramic view and the magnificent orientation table, which provides information on the surrounding mountains and peaks.
Start your descent by following the same route you took on the way up, but do not go back to the hut. Instead, head south. Keep slightly away from the Petit Lac lake on your left and continue until you reach a crossroads.
(3) Leave the return path on your left and continue south-west across the mountain pasture (one of the largest in the department). After about 500m, turn slightly left to follow the ridge line, then a trail and climb the 100m to the summit of Peyrouse. The summit is marked by a small hut and a pylon. This climb can also be done via switchbacks to make it less strenuous.
(4) From the summit of Peyrouse, enjoy the slightly more extensive panorama to the south.
Descend via the northern slope and turn slightly left (north) to reach the clearly visible Grand Lac, located in a sort of pass (signposts). Go around the lake on the left.
(5) Then take the well-marked path that heads northeast and rejoins the ridge before ending at the crossroads just before the Petit Lac.
(3) Take the path on the right that follows a fence and joins the mountain road leading back to the starting point (S/E).
